Meghan Johnson | From Healthcare Operations to Education

Meghan Johnson is a connector, planner, learner, sports lover, and recovering corporate dropout. After nearly 20 years in corporate America — including almost a decade in health insurance operations, leading organizations of 400+ people — an unexpected layoff prompted a career pivot she didn’t see coming.

With a marketing degree and an MBA already on her resume, she’s back in school in her early 40s pursuing a Master’s of Teaching and a K-6 elementary license, with four young kids at home. She works as a building substitute at her kids’ elementary school and is aiming for long-term sub roles rather than her own classroom.

Meghan’s story is a candid look at leaving corporate and building a second act career — the money math, the identity shift, and what career reinvention actually looks like.
